methodology
How we compute the PropVitals health score. Short version: only observable data — no vibes.
What goes into a score
Each firm gets a 0–100 health score based on five categories of publicly observable signals. We weight recent data more heavily than historical data, and we explicitly do not factor in our affiliate relationship.
- Payout track record (35%)
Publicly verifiable payouts (Trustpilot reviews with proof, X screenshots), payout-delay complaints, banking incidents.
- Complaint velocity (25%)
Trustpilot review trend (positive/negative deltas over rolling 30-day window), Reddit mentions in r/Forex, r/Daytrading, r/Prop_firms.
- Operational stability (20%)
Sudden rule changes, ownership changes, banking partner changes, platform downtime. Firms restructuring under pressure get penalized.
- Regulatory exposure (10%)
Public actions by regulators (CFTC, NFA, foreign equivalents). Open lawsuits and consumer complaints filed with regulatory bodies.
- Track record duration (10%)
Years operating without major incident. Newer firms (less than 2 years) get a cap on this dimension — they simply haven't been through enough cycles.
Score bands
- Healthy 70–100 — no significant concerns detected
- Yellow Flag 40–69 — operating, but concerns worth investigating
- Red Flag 0–39 — material issues; avoid until score recovers
What does NOT factor in
- Whether the firm has an affiliate program (or how much they pay)
- Marketing budget or social media presence
- Sponsored content from competitors
- Our personal opinion of the firm's branding
Update cadence
Scores are recomputed weekly. Material events (payout pauses, regulatory actions, ownership changes) trigger immediate score updates outside the regular cadence. Each firm page shows the last update date.
Limitations & honest caveats
We are a small team. Scores are computed from public data we can verify — we don't have insider access to firms' financials or payment processors. A firm that's quietly insolvent could score "healthy" until the first public payout failure.
Use PropVitals scores as one input in your decision, not the only one. Always verify recent payout proof yourself before depositing funds.
